Welcome to the Yarralumla Primary School website. It is designed to share with you many of the programs, activities and features of the school that makes Yarralumla a special child-centred place.
The strength of our school lies in the close partnership between students, staff and parents and the wider community. We believe that students have a fundamental right to learn in a safe, supportive environment and to be treated with respect. We also value diversity and operate an inclusive learning environment for all students including those with a disability. Our school follows the Positive Behaviours for Learning philosophy that promotes; Be a S.T.A.R. be Safe, be a Team player, be an Active learner and be Respectful. Our School values are: integrity, inclusion and innovation.
The school celebrated its 60th Birthday in 2017 after being opened in 1957 by the then Governor-General, Sir William Slim. In 2013, it had major capital improvements worth $2 million that have further facilitated the delivery of learning programs and experiences that meet the academic, physical, social and emotional needs of students and that cultivate success and life long learning for the future.
Yarralumla Primary has a dedicated and professional team of teaching and non-teaching staff who offer a balance of youth and experience in a diversity of programs. The school buildings and grounds are a unique design in a beautiful leafy lake side setting with plentiful playground areas and excellent internal facilities for all students and staff to enjoy. Please go to Programs and Facilities for more information.
