Employment at Yarralumla Primary School
As Yarralumla Primary school is an English-Italian Bilingual school, there are opportunities available for native Italian speakers to work either as teachers or SLAs (school language assistants) in classrooms and/or in administrative roles.

Native Italian speaking teachers residing in Italy are encouraged to apply for bilingual teaching positions at Yarralumla for short or longer terms. To be eligible to teach in an ACT public school, teachers are required to have the following:
Registration with the ACT Teacher Quality Institute - a four education degree (or three year bachelor's degree plus Diploma in Education) that is recognised by the TQI. Overseas applicants are required to have a translation of their university transcript and acceptable pass levels in reading and writing on the International English Level Testing System: https://www.ielts.org/.
Note: Prior to commencing any role at Yarralumla Primary, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is also required.
