ILP – Individual Learning Plan
Every student who is supported with additional resources through the Student Support section of the ACT Education Directorate requires an ILP. The ILP is developed in consultation with the classroom teacher, parents and specialist consultants.
Immunisation
ACT Public Health regulations require schools to request proof of up to date immunisation when enrolling. Failure to provide this may result in your child being excluded from school should an outbreak of an infectious disease occur. A copy of exclusion periods for students with infectious diseases is available. Parents are asked to adhere closely to these requirements unless medical advice to the contrary is provided in writing. Please ensure the School Office has an up-to-date copy of your child’s immunisation record. For further information contact the ACT Department of Health.
Italy Trip
Parents in the Yarralumla community undertake to organise a bi-annual trip to Italy for interested students and their families. Previous trips have been in September/October 2008, 2010 and 2012. Students and their parents/carers spend two weeks of their school holidays travelling with their respective families in Italy and being billeted with families of students at a school that YPS liaises with in Northern Italy. Usually a member of the school executive and an Italian teacher accompany families to build links with the Italian school and to purchase language resources.
